“Sazae-san,” which is still said to be a national anime, made Sakura-shinmachi famous. Since the original author, Machiko Hasegawa, lived in this town in the early Showa era, when the “Machiko Hasegawa Museum” opened in 1985, a bronze statue of the character was installed and Sazae-san’s original goods were sold. The city was raised and Sazae-san pushed for regional revitalization. The Sakura-shinmachi shopping street that runs from the station to the museum is commonly known as “Sazae-san Street”. The situation at that time is introduced on the YouTube channel.
