Harajuku is the center of Japanese pop culture, with fashion and sweets shops for young people. Takeshita Street, which continues from JR Harajuku Station, is lined with shops for character goods and sweets, including those for teenagers. If you go through Takeshita Dori and turn south on Meiji Dori, you will see select shops and large shops lined up around the intersection in front of Laforet Harajuku. At this Jingumae intersection, a row of zelkova trees shades the Omotesando, which is orthogonal to Meiji-dori, and a luxury brand sets up a flagship store in the direction of Aoyama, forming a luxury shopping zone. In addition, a large number of shops are scattered throughout the residential area in the back of the narrow alley behind the main street.
